Frequently Asked Questions

What is your Safety Record?

In our five years of operations we have had no accidents or injuries. The rare incidents that have occurred have been openly discussed and been used to increase further safety.

Who performs your maintenance?

We are partnered with an excellent maintenance shop, Munson Aviation, to provide the best possible maintenance to the flight school aircraft. With two IAs on staff, we can have most routine maintenance turned around within one or two days.

Do you accept student loans or GI bill?

At this time we cannot accept either standard student loans or the GI bill. We do have an option for private financing.

Do you offer degrees in aviation?

Yes!

Though our partner, Lake Michigan College (LMC), students who complete their CFI or CFII training through Foxtrot Flight Training can obtain an AS or AAS in aviation.

Contact us for more information, or check out LMC at https://lakemichigancollege.catalog.prod.coursedog.com/programs/vXhUHQvrPnCbU1TS2Rmj/overview-aoYks

Do you rent out your aircraft?

Absolutely! Aircraft rental is an important part of using your Private Pilot certificate, and building time for further ratings.

Rental is charged at the posted rates on the website, The fixed gear tricycle aircraft (C-150, C-172, PA-28) have very minimal PIC (Pilot In Command) requirements for rental. Both the Luscombe 8A and the PA-24-260 have more strict rental requirements. See the pilot training options link for more details. https://www.foxtrotflighttraining.com/pilottrainingoptions

Do you require renters insurance?

We highly recommend renters insurance to cover the deductible in case of accident.

Also, while our insurance covers the aircraft and Foxtrot Flight Trainings liability, it does not cover the individual pilots liability.
